Aftercare isn’t an extra - it’s part of the service
Many agents see the sale completion or tenancy sign-up as the end of the journey. But for estate and letting agents, aftercare is where loyalty is built and reviews naturally flow.
Aftercare isn’t about endless hand-holding - it’s about showing you care beyond the transaction.
Clients remember the agent who checks in after the fact, offers useful advice, or resolves lingering questions. And those memories translate into glowing online reviews.
Examples of review-generating aftercare
For Buyers & Sellers:
- A follow-up call 1–2 weeks after move-in to see how they’ve settled.
- Sharing a local contacts list - cleaners, gardeners, tradespeople - to help them get started.
- Sending a “Happy Anniversary” message one year later with a market update.
For Landlords:
- Quarterly property performance updates.
- Proactive maintenance reminders ahead of seasonal changes.
- Advice on market rent adjustments.
For Tenants:
- Checking in after their first month to ensure everything is working as expected.
- Swift responses to minor repairs to reinforce your service quality.
Why this leads to reviews
Review requests land best when a client is feeling appreciated and looked after. Aftercare ensures you hit those moments naturally, without forcing the ask.
Example script:
"We like to check in with all our clients to make sure you’re happy and settled. If you are, it would mean a lot to us if you could share that in a quick Google review - it really helps other people in [Town] know what to expect working with us."
The local trust factor
Word travels fast. Reviews that mention ongoing support, even months after completion, prove you’re in it for the long haul - not just the commission.
If you have any success stories where taking the opportunity to ask for a review at times other than on completion, we’d love to hear from you!
